Scenario playbook: infil to exfil
What good squads actually do in common DMZ: Recon situations: landing, looting, contracts, third parties, the radiation cloud, bosses and the last minute before extraction.

Infil
- Pick the exfil before you pick the drop. Serpent Island’s standard exfil runs through the Kurohana Ship switch; Rebirth Island’s roof exfil needs a console inside the Prison. Land so the last leg of your route is short.
- Edge-land, never center-land. AI aggro plus a rival squad on the same rooftop is the most common wipe in the first two minutes.
- First 60 seconds: plates, bag, a second gun. Do not open a contract until all three players have armor.
Looting
- Loot in a triangle. One player loots, one watches the door, one watches outside. Rotate every room.
- Ping high-tier items instead of talking about them. Pings are faster and silent.
- Anything irreplaceable goes in the safe slot immediately. Key cards first.
Contracts
- Contracts are the safest loot on every map. Two contracts near your exfil beat one key room across the map.
- Finish the contract you started before taking another; the AI waves ramp while contracts are active.
- Secure-the-intel style contracts leak your position; run them with a planned exit, not after you have looted everything.
Third parties
- Gunfire anywhere near a key door or an active contract pulls a squad within about a minute. Assume it will happen and set one player on the approach.
- If a fight starts somewhere else, do not go. Loot the area they left.
- When you are the third party, hit the squad that is reloading plates, not the one that just won.
Radiation cloud
- Every squad underestimates the cloud once. Call the rotation when the cloud edge touches the POI next to you, not yours.
- Vehicles and boats are loud but faster than the cloud. Ditch them 150 m from the exfil and walk the last stretch.
- Gas masks are consumable and a safe-slot candidate if you run late exfils on purpose.
Bosses
- Velikan (Building 21): reported as the map’s boss. Fight him from a doorway you can close; indoors his damage output is brutal. Do not take the fight with less than two full plate stacks each.
- Nikto (Rebirth Island): appears when the universal extract is first activated, with Atlas soldiers and aerial support. Bring a launcher for the air, focus the soldiers first, then break the shield from an angle. Killing him drops an extraction flare at his body, which is usually faster than the second terminal.
Key rooms
- Open the door with one player only. The other two hold the hallway or the roof above the entrance.
- Take photos (screenshots) of what the room contained and send them in: that is how this site’s key tables get built.
- Leave the door and go. A standing open key door is a beacon for the whole lobby.
Last two minutes
- Decide who carries what before the exfil, so a down does not lose the squad’s valuables. Spread key cards across safe slots.
- Smoke the exfil pad, not yourselves.
- If you are down to one player, hide and let the timer run instead of fighting to the exfil. A quiet solo exfil beats a loud wipe.
After a wipe
- Note what killed you: AI wave, third party or cloud. Each has a different fix in your next drop.
- Rebuy the boring loadout first (suppressed AR, plates, medium bag). The meta gun can wait.
